The towns and villages are nestled in one of England's most beautiful regions known as the Cotswold Hills. They were once important Roman cities producing wool from sheep and building materials from limestone quarrys. They were busy little towns then, but now are visited by tourists from all over the world exploring the quaint pubs and endless shops. There are links to many Cotswold towns, in the Towns and Villages section.

East Anglia Towns and Villages

Village is located in northeastern Suffolk County. A quiet little country village where you will find great pubs like The Butchers and the White Horse Hotel. If you are in the mood for fish and chips, drop into Sea Hawks Fish and Chips on Sizewell Rd. Here are the hours they are open.

Village is a beautiful little town in the County of Suffolk. Better allow most of the day if you plan to shop at the new Ipswich Mall. Many fine resturants and pubs can be found around the town center also. The old Ipswich Mall provides tourists a wide varity of fine shops and old world charm.

A beautiful town situated about 12mi. from the Norfolk Broads and 20mi. from Great Yarmouth. It is home to Norwich Castle and St. George's Chapel. Residents and tourists both can find many fine shops and Pubs in town.

is just about 10mi. N.W. of the larger city of Peterborough. Fine Pubs and resturants dot all areas of this town. The London Pub and Resturant, Samuel Smith's St. Mary's Vault Pub and The Jolly Brewer Pub are all good places to draw a pint of your favorite brew.

is a quiet little coastal town. This series of pictures highlights Aldeburgh beach and the marsh behind it leading into the bay. The winds can be brutal from the North Sea during winter, making even fishing on the beach a bit of a challenge. I also found a rather unique looking house in Thorpeness and a windmill poised waiting for the slightest breeze.

is a village with two medieval monasteries. One is in ruins, but the other is now being used as a school. I found this thatched-roofed cottage in Little Ripton nestled off a winding country road.

Famous Castles

Village and Castle are located in eastern Suffolk County. below the coastal town of Aldeburgh. Built in the 12th century by Henry II as part of the coastal defences. This magnificent keep was the first in the country built in this design. It's three massive towers remain almost intact.

Village and Castle is also in Suffolk County about 12 mi. west of the town of Leiston. The first castle was built in 1101-1140. The castle walls are the only parts left that the Normans built in 1189. The scenic village with it's busy market-place is a must to see.
